FCCLA - Family, Career, and Community
Leaders of America
All students in the Early Childhood Education Program will participate in the student organization, FCCLA. There are many different ways students will be asked to participate. Students involvement in FCCLA helps them with public speaking, to gain confidence and leadership skills, it also builds on students ability to work as a team. FCCLA looks wonderful on a students resume.
Classroom Level - We will prepare, complete, and present community projects. Examples of these projects may be collecting gifts for less fortunate children, school supply drives, fundraising for our chapter or to donate for a specific cause.
State Level - Students have the option to take an overnight trip to a Leadership Conference in the Fall (beginning of November) and the State STARS Competition in the Spring (end of March). I take around 10 on average every year to the fall conference, and about five to the spring competition. Students have a wonderful time at these conferences, As do I!
National Level - Students who win at the STARS state level competition may go on to compete nationally. This is a
Fundraisers - Students decide at the beginning of the year what we will do. Twice a year (October and April) JRTI has a yard sale. Our class will have a table that family members may donate items to sell at the yard sale and the money earned will go directly into our class's FCCLA account.

Books provided by First Book were set up in the cafeteria, at the Spring Yard Sale, donations were collected
